Rivermaze Coop Canon City Colorado

The new Rivermaze Coop in Canon City, Colorado is comprised of 35 very happy families!
On behalf of the Thistle ROC program, I am happy to announce the successful closing of Colorado’s third Resident Owned Community: the Rivermaze Coop!
On Monday, November 25th, Rivermaze board members Cheryl and Kevin sat down with myself and their now former landlord Quan to finalize closing documents and officially take ownership of the Maverick and Poplar Mobile Home Parks in Canon City, Colorado. The residents had much to be thankful for at their Thanksgiving table this year, but the work has just begun! Thistle will continue to work with the Rivermaze board and residents on planning much-needed infrastructure projects, as well as the ins and outs of owning and operating their own mobile home community.
Congratulations, Rivermaze!

WHAT IS ROC USA?
Simply put, ROC is the solution to maintaining affordability in Mobile Home Parks.
ROC (Resident Owned Communities) USA, a national 501(c)3, has converted 200 mobile home communities in 14 states to resident ownership, thus preserving affordability and promoting self-determination for 15,000 people. ROC’s cooperative housing business model transitions mobile home communities (MHC’s) to resident-owned communities by providing financing and technical assistance so that the existing residents can acquire the mobile home park land from the owner and self-determine their future.
