RON TUPA is a native Midwesterner, proud University of Texas Longhorn, former Teamster, and 30-year city of Boulder resident. He is a current social studies teacher, part-time political consultant, and former CO state legislator who supported allocating more funding for affordable housing and carried legislation on tenants’ rights and expanding the rights of renters while in office. As a former homeowner and current Thistle resident, he has an interest in making affordable housing options available to as many residents as possible both in Boulder County and along the Front Range. Ron served 14 years in the CO House and Senate representing Boulder and Boulder County residents, has been involved in education policy for 20+ years, and has a Master’s Degree in Political Communication from Regis University.
